We hit the road out of the Park and steered toward San Francisco. We of course had to do the obligatory stop to put our feet in the water. Margaret, John's sister, says that to put your feet in the water, anywhere, ensures you will return.

| It was freezing cold water, straight off the snowy mountains. |

We have been amazed at the seeming lack of awareness in relation to saving energy and resources. Each of the hotels we've stayed at (including Best Western Plus) have plastic cutlery, polystyrene and cardboard cups and not a recycling bin in sight. Water is wasted like there's a never-ending supply - we've seen people hosing down their footpaths, lawns are watered in the heat of the day and the farmers are crying out for water for their crops.
We arrived in Daly City at our AirBnB accommodation for the next week at around 7 pm. Unlike the Los Angeles crack house, this house is more than satisfactory. Claire has two beds and is very, very comfortable.
We unpacked and organised laundry and headed out for dinner - and what came scurrying across the road toward us? A SKUNK!!!! Claire was soooooo excited. Thankfully it scurried back to the house opposite where a cat soon came out to check out the smell.

Thankfully you did not get to wear the new "Skunk" perfume to dinner!
